The Face Mag cover

[Guardian] The Face, the style magazine that was at the cutting edge of 80s and 90s culture, is facing closure more than two decades after its launch.

Shame, I really liked that magazine. In 2002, after a 4-year-long open relationship with I-D and Dazed & Confused, I started dating The Face mag. I still buy my copy every month, even in Tokyo where each issue costs me more than £15.
I guess I'll have to find a replacement... And no I am not planning on buying Heat mag instead. Beurk. Any suggestions (I need crazy typography and madening photos)? Should I go back to I-D?

Send an email their way if you can.

Dear friends and readers

THE FACE is under threat of closure. Profits have been down, and our parent company Emap is currently reviewing the future of the magazine.
THE FACE has always stood for discovering and promoting the best in creative talent within British and international pop culture. You can help ensure it can continue to do so.
We would like you to write a letter of support, addressed to the editor, Neil Stevenson (email it to: save@theface.co.uk). We will pass your letter on to the Emap executives.
A two-line letter is enough, but if you're feeling creative, please email a small digital photo of yourself holding a copy of the magazine. If you would rather we didn't republish your letter, please say so.

We need your letters by the end of Tuesday 16th.
And let us know if you can think of some creative ways of drumming up support!
Thank you,

THE FACE team (save@theface.co.uk)

Update (22/03/2004): Emap has decided to close down The Face unless a last minute buyer steps in.
